VOCS
What is a VOC?
A Verification of Competency (VOC) is a non-accredited method of assessment that can be used to confirm that an individual possesses the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities to operate equipment and/or undertake the responsibilities of a certain job role safely and effectively.
The VOC process involves evaluating a person’s competency through observation, practical demonstration, assessment, and written tests. This assessment is often conducted by qualified assessors or trainers who are experienced in the particular field or industry.
VOCs are commonly used in high-risk industries such as construction, mining and manufacturing, where safety and competency are critical. They may be required for workers operating machinery, handling hazardous materials, performing specialized tasks, or operating in regulated environments.
Once an individual successfully completes a Verification of Competency, they are typically issued with a certificate or documentation confirming their competency in the specific area assessed. This documentation serves as evidence that the individual has met the required standards and can safely perform the tasks associated with their role or job function.
RM Consultancy and Training can conduct and issue VOC’s for their clients as a third party or by using the company’s own assessments and paperwork.
We will not co-sign with a subject matter expert – preferring to only issue VOC’s for the competencies held by our trainers.
